Kitchen cabinetry can be categorized according to its type, construction, door style, etc. It holds the power to make your kitchen look amazing or terrible. 

This guide will help you know about different types of cabinetries and assist you in choosing the right one that suits your style and home.

By Construction

1. Semi-custom cabinets: These cabinets are stock cabinets that provide some customized features. 

They enable you to create a more personalized look for your kitchen at a lower cost than custom cabinets. 

It ranges from $100 to $250 per linear foot. 

2. Custom cabinets: These cabinets are specifically made for your unique shape, which makes them a bit more costly than other cabinets.

They offer design freedom and can fit any space and style. 

It ranges from $300 to $750+ per linear foot. 

3. Stock cabinets: They are pre-made and are easier to ship. They are more affordable than custom and semi-custom cabinets.

They come in limited shapes, sizes, styles, and designs. Low or no customization can be made. 

It ranges from $50 to $100 per linear foot. 

By Cabinet Type

1. Base cabinets: These cabinets are the foundation and help your kitchen store heavier items. They are 24 inches deep and 34.5 inches tall without countertops.

2. Tall cabinets: These cabinets are also called pantry cabinets. They are 84 to 96 inches tall. They provide enough storage for food and household appliances, like a microwave.

3. Wall cabinets: These cabinets are attached to the wall and are 12 to 24 inches deep. They are built above the base cabinets and provide storage for lighter items.

4. Corner cabinets: These cabinets cover the excessive spaces of unique corners. They are mostly customized, as corners can be of different shapes.

By Door Style

1. Shaker-style kitchen cabinets: These cabinets are a five-piece door with a recessed central panel. They are simple in design and are available in various colors.
