The Real Questions

What buyers actually want to know
before choosing a supplier.

These are the three questions every homeowner and contractor should ask any kitchen and bath supplier — and our honest answers.

01
Will the price I see actually be what I pay?

Yes. We don't inflate prices then negotiate them down. Our factory-direct pricing is the same for every customer — posted clearly, no hidden showroom design fees, no markup on "special access" inventory. What you see in the showroom is what you pay. Contractors get an additional trade discount through our contractor program — ask about it when you visit.

Transparent Pricing
02
Is the material I choose actually in stock, or will I wait months?

If it's on our showroom floor, it's available for pickup this week. We maintain real warehouse inventory at every location — not just display samples backed by a 10-week backorder. We stock the cabinet styles, stone colors, and vanity sizes that actually move in California projects. We don't take your money and then start sourcing.

Real Inventory
03
Can I actually trust the quality without physically seeing it first?

You don't have to trust it without seeing it — come see it in person at any of our six California showrooms. Every granite and stone slab is individually quality-checked by our team before it reaches the warehouse floor. Cabinets are built to KCMA standards. And our 20-year track record — 80% of our business from referrals — is the most reliable quality signal we can offer.

Our Quality Process

Every stone piece is checked individually.

This is not a marketing claim. Here is what actually happens to every piece of stone before it reaches our showroom floor.

Most stone suppliers purchase container loads and move them directly from port to warehouse to customer without inspection. The result: customers receive slabs with hidden fissures, color inconsistencies, or surface defects that only become apparent after fabrication — by which point the material has already been cut and is non-returnable.

At Apex, every piece of granite, engineered stone, and natural stone slab that enters our inventory passes through individual inspection by our quality control team. This process adds time and cost on our end. It saves you from discovering a problem after your countertop has been cut to your kitchen dimensions.

The same standard applies to our cabinetry. Our American and European cabinet lines are built to KCMA certification standards — the industry benchmark for kitchen cabinet construction quality. Plywood box construction (not particleboard), soft-close hinges, and full-extension drawer slides are standard across our lines, not upsells.

Twenty years of building a business on referrals means our quality reputation is directly tied to our repeat and referred customer base. We cannot afford to ship inferior product — and we don't.

1
Source Inspection — At the Quarry

Stone is evaluated at the source before shipping. Lots with excessive natural fissuring or inconsistent coloring are rejected before they reach our container.

2
Individual Slab Review — On Arrival

Every slab is visually inspected by our QC team on arrival at the California warehouse. Surface defects, edge chips, and structural fissures are identified and flagged at this stage.

3
Showroom Display — Full Slab Visible

Approved slabs are placed on vertical display racks so you can view the full face of the stone at scale under showroom lighting — not just an edge chip in a sample box.

4
You Choose the Specific Slab

For natural stone, you select the specific slab you want — not a representative sample. The slab you approve in the showroom is the one that goes to your fabricator. No substitutions.

80%
of our clients come from
word of mouth.

That figure hasn't changed in years. It's the one metric that summarizes twenty years of service better than anything we could say ourselves.

Our customers send
their neighbors to us.

A business built on referrals isn't built on marketing — it's built on not disappointing people. Customers who had a good experience at Apex don't send their friends and contractors here because of our advertising. They send them because they trust us to treat them the same way they were treated. That accountability is the most honest quality guarantee we can offer.

"I've sent four contractors here. All of them came back and thanked me."

"My neighbor did her whole kitchen here. I saw it and came in the same week."

What homeowners and contractors
say in their own words.

★★★★★

We visited four different stone yards before coming to Apex. The selection was incredible — we found our countertops in twenty minutes. Pricing was fair and the staff actually knew what they were talking about. We'll never go anywhere else.

★★★★★

As a contractor, I've been using Apex for three years. Their cabinet lead times are the best in Southern California and the trade pricing keeps my clients happy. I send every customer here for cabinets and stone — always a smooth experience.

★★★★★

Got my engineered stone countertops and RTA cabinets from the Fresno showroom. Both were exactly as shown — no surprises on delivery. The staff helped me figure out the right edge profile for my layout without any pressure. Came back three months later for the bathroom.

Materials Only

We don't install.
That's a feature.

When a supplier also installs, their material recommendations are influenced by their installation margins. When we recommend a product, it's because it's the right product for your project — full stop. We have no installation business to protect and no incentive to steer you toward a product that's easier or more profitable for us to put in.

We never compete with your contractor — we support them
Our sales team earns nothing from installation decisions
You keep your existing contractor relationship
We can recommend trusted local installers in most areas
For contractors: we're a supplier partner, never a competitor
🤝
The Contractor's Supplier

More than half of Apex's business comes from professional contractors, builders, and designers — repeat customers who trust us precisely because we stay in our lane. We supply. They install. Everyone wins. That division is intentional and it's been the model since 2005.

Common Questions

Why Apex — specific answers.

Honest answers to the comparison questions buyers ask before making a decision.

Why not just buy from Home Depot or Lowe's?
Big-box stores offer limited stone selection (usually a handful of prefab remnant pieces, not full slabs), stock primarily mid-range cabinet lines with limited customization, and have no stone expertise on staff. They serve a broad market — renovation materials are a small part of what they do. Apex focuses exclusively on kitchen and bath materials, carries a far deeper stone and cabinet selection, has staff trained on the products, and prices factory-direct rather than retail. For a full kitchen renovation where choices matter, big-box is a starting point. Apex is where serious buyers land.
Why not use a high-end kitchen design studio?
High-end design studios typically bundle design services with product markup — you're paying a premium for the room, the designer's time, and the curated selection. If you already know what you want (or want to figure it out in a no-pressure environment), that overhead comes out of your materials budget. Apex offers the same quality materials at factory-direct prices, a free 3D design service included for every customer, and expert staff without the bundled design retainer.
Why not buy stone and cabinets online?
Online purchasing works for commodities where what you see is genuinely what you get. Stone countertops and kitchen cabinets are not that — both require in-person evaluation. A stone slab photographed on a website looks dramatically different from the same slab at countertop scale under your kitchen lighting. Cabinet construction quality (plywood vs. particleboard, hinge quality, drawer slide type) cannot be assessed from a product photo. Apex exists specifically to solve this problem: real materials, in person, before you commit.
How do I know your "factory-direct" pricing claim is real?
Compare. Bring a specific product — a cabinet model, a stone color, a vanity size — and compare our price to a retail kitchen showroom for the same or equivalent product. The factory-direct difference is typically 20–35%. We've been making this claim since 2005 and our customer return rate and referral volume — 80% of new customers come from existing customer referrals — reflects what buyers find when they do that comparison.
What makes your stone quality better than competitors?
Two things: individual piece inspection and full-slab viewing. Every stone slab in our inventory is individually reviewed by our QC team before it enters the showroom. And rather than showing you a 6-inch sample tile and asking you to imagine the full countertop, we display full slabs so you see the actual material at countertop scale before ordering. Customers who have ordered stone elsewhere based on samples and been disappointed are a significant portion of our first-time visitors — they come back because the transparency here is materially different.
Do you offer contractor or trade pricing?
Yes — we have a dedicated contractor program with trade account pricing, priority inventory access, and fulfillment structured around contractor project timelines. We work with general contractors, specialty contractors, interior designers, and architects across California. Visit any showroom or see our contractor page to set up an account.
Can I see the specific slab that will go into my kitchen?
Yes — and for natural stone, we strongly recommend it. For granite and natural crystalline stone, you can select the exact slab from our showroom inventory. The slab you choose is the one tagged for your project — no substitutions. This matters because no two natural stone slabs are identical, and the specific veining and color character of the piece you approve is what ends up in your kitchen.
What happens if there's a problem with what I receive?
We've been in the same California markets since 2005. We have permanent showroom locations and a 20-year reputation to protect in every community we serve. If there's a problem, contact us directly — we will address it. Our Terms of Sale outline the specific policies for inspection windows and claims by product category. We recommend reading them before purchase so expectations are clear on both sides.
