The design process
From blank room to finished 3D design.
This is exactly the process our design team follows — the same steps shown in your reference drawings, digitized into a 5-minute form.
01
📐
Measure & sketch the room
Width, depth, ceiling height. Mark doors, windows, vents, and any protrusions on a simple sketch — even hand-drawn is fine.

🗺️
Choose the floor plan layout
U-shape, L-shape, straight run, or wardrobe wall. We'll design the cabinet runs to maximize your usable floor space.
03
📋
Define storage zones
Hanging, shelving, drawers, shoe storage, glass display, island. We'll create a component list with exact dimensions and quantities.
04
🎨
Select style & finish
Wood tone, door type (hinged, sliding, open, glass-front), hardware finish, and upper cabinet configuration.

Closet system types
Which system is right for your space?
Three approaches to custom closet design — each suited to different room sizes, budgets, and storage goals.
🚪
Walk-in Wardrobe
Min. 5' × 7' room · U / L / Straight
A dedicated room with perimeter cabinet runs on 2–3 walls. Options include U-shape, L-shape, or straight layouts. Large walk-ins can include a center island with jewelry drawers, glass-front display cabinets, and seating. The setup shown in your reference drawings — 3946mm wide, 3048mm tall, with an island.
📦
Reach-in Closet
Single wall · 4'–10' wide
A single wall of built-in cabinets accessed from outside the closet. Can include hanging zones, open shelving, drawers, and upper cabinets. Sliding or hinged bi-fold doors keep the footprint minimal. Ideal for bedrooms without dedicated closet rooms — fits tightly against any wall.
🗄️
Wardrobe Wall System
Floor to ceiling · Full wall width
A full-wall built-in wardrobe that spans ceiling to floor, as shown in your elevation drawings. Zones typically include upper cabinets (700mm), a main hanging/shelving body (2200mm), and a base section (450mm + 100mm plinth). Available in modular widths of 590mm, 760mm, and 900mm to fill any wall.

How to measure your closet space
Step-by-step guide to measuring width, depth, ceiling height, and noting doors, windows, vents, and wall protrusions before submitting your design request.
Cabinet module widths (590mm / 760mm / 900mm), standard heights (3048mm full height), hanging acp-zone clearances, and shelf depth guidelines — what each measurement means and why it matters.
White vs. natural wood vs. two-tone — how each finish reads in a real room. Hinged vs. sliding vs. glass-front doors. Hardware finish pairings. What looks best in low-light vs. daylit spaces.
Walk into any of our California showrooms Monday through Saturday. Our design team will draft your closet layout on the spot — floor plan, component list, and 3D render — at no charge and with no appointment needed.
