How do I open a contractor trade account?
Contact any Apex showroom or submit the trade inquiry form on our contact page and select "Trade / Contractor" as the inquiry type. Our team will reach out the same business day with your contractor rate card and account setup information. No lengthy application process — we review your trade status and get you active quickly. Most contractors are set up within one business day of first contact.
What trade discount do contractors receive?
We issue contractor-specific rate cards rather than publishing a universal discount percentage — because the structure varies by product line, order volume, and account depth. Contact us to request your rate card — it provides clear pricing across our cabinet lines, countertop materials, vanities, and fixtures so you can estimate projects accurately before your bid. Pricing improves as you consolidate orders across multiple projects.
Do you offer net terms? What are the requirements?
Net 30 terms are available for qualified contractor accounts. Qualification typically requires active contractor license verification and a brief credit review. First orders are typically prepaid while credit is being established — subsequent orders move to net terms once approved. Contact your nearest showroom to start the qualification process. Net terms apply at all six California locations once approved.
Can I bring my clients to your showroom?
Yes — and we encourage it. Our showrooms are designed for exactly this. Bring your client to view full-size stone slabs, feel the real cabinet finishes, and walk through a free 3D kitchen design session with our team. The showroom experience closes material decisions faster than photos or samples ever will — and a client who sees the value at Apex reflects well on you as their contractor. No appointment needed, walk-ins always welcome.
How quickly can I get materials after ordering?
For in-stock items: same-week pickup is standard. Our most popular cabinet styles (White Shaker, Grey Shaker, Euro frameless) and countertop sizes are physically in our California warehouses. Call your nearest location to confirm availability of a specific style before visiting. Priority inventory access for trade account holders means you get first call when high-demand items are limited. We do not carry items that require 6–10 week import lead times as our primary inventory model.
Do you refer contractors to homeowners who need installation?
Yes. Homeowners regularly visit our showrooms without a contractor — especially when beginning a kitchen renovation without established trade relationships. When they need installation referrals, trade partners are the first call we make. We have no installation division and no financial incentive to favour any particular contractor — referrals go to the most professional and responsive trade partners in the relevant area.
Can I order across multiple projects on one account?
Yes — and consolidating orders is how you access the best pricing tiers. If you have two or three kitchen projects in the pipeline, bundling the cabinet and countertop orders into a single purchase typically moves you into a better pricing bracket than ordering each project separately. We can stage materials at the Apex location nearest each job site and coordinate pickup scheduling across your project timelines.
What cabinet construction quality can I expect?
Our cabinet lines are built to KCMA certification standards — the industry benchmark for residential kitchen cabinet construction. Standard across every line: plywood box construction (not particleboard), soft-close hinges, full-extension drawer slides with dovetail joints, and 5/8" plywood shelving. These are standard features, not upsells. Consistent construction quality across every order is critical for contractor accounts — callbacks cost more than any per-unit discount saves.
Can I use Apex pricing for multi-unit apartment projects?
Yes — multi-unit is one of our strongest use cases. Property managers and investors renovating multiple apartment units benefit significantly from consolidated volume pricing, coordinated pickup across multiple units, and consistent materials that simplify sourcing and estimating. We work with property managers on Kern County and Central Valley multi-family projects regularly. Contact us with your unit count and timeline and we'll put together pricing that reflects the actual volume.
Do you supply materials only, or can you also fabricate custom pieces?
Apex is a materials supplier — we carry prefabricated countertops in standard sizes (6"×110", 26"×110", 36"×110", 42"×110", 52"×110") and in-stock cabinet configurations. We do not offer on-site fabrication or custom cutting services. Most California projects can be completed with our standard prefab sizes, which are manufactured to the most common residential layout dimensions. For projects requiring truly custom dimensions, your stone fabricator can cut standard Apex slabs to specification.
