American Shaker (face-frame): a solid wood frame is attached to the front of the cabinet box — doors and drawers mount to this frame. Classic proportions, warm aesthetic, and a look that suits traditional, farmhouse, and transitional kitchens. The most widely used residential cabinet style in California. Euro frameless (full-access): no face frame — doors hinge directly to the interior box sides, exposing the full interior width. Wider access, cleaner contemporary lines, and semi-custom sizing capability for non-standard spaces. Our Euro frameless line can be modified for layouts that standard face-frame cabinets cannot accommodate.
What does semi-custom mean for the Euro frameless line?
Semi-custom means our Euro frameless cabinets can be modified beyond standard stock dimensions — adjusted heights, depths, and configurations to fit non-standard layouts, angled walls, ceiling variations, or specific design requirements. Unlike fully custom cabinets (built from scratch, priced accordingly), semi-custom modifications work within our established construction system — giving you real flexibility at a fraction of fully custom pricing. How do I get a custom factory order quote?
Two ways: Contractors and designers can submit plans, drawings, or specifications directly to any Apex showroom or via our contact page — we review the project and respond with a factory quote same business day. Homeowners can bring their measurements and design ideas to any showroom and our team will work through what's achievable, what the lead time looks like, and what the factory-direct pricing is for their specific configuration. There is no obligation attached to a quote request — getting a number costs you nothing.
Can I pick up cabinets the same week?
Yes — for in-stock configurations. Popular styles are physically in our California warehouses across all six locations. Call your nearest showroom before visiting to confirm availability of the specific units, sizes, and finishes you need. For semi-custom or factory custom orders, lead times vary by configuration — our team will provide a specific timeline with your quote. For large modular orders, we can coordinate a pickup schedule so everything is ready in one trip.
Are your cabinets suitable for rooms other than the kitchen?

What construction quality should I expect?
All Apex cabinet lines meet KCMA (Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association) certification standards — the industry benchmark for residential cabinet construction. Included as standard across every line: plywood box construction (not particleboard — plywood holds screws under load and resists moisture), soft-close hinges on all doors, full-extension drawer slides with dovetail joints, and 5/8" plywood adjustable shelving. What is the difference between plywood and particleboard box construction?
Plywood is the correct material — Apex uses it as standard. Plywood is cross-laminated wood veneer that holds screws with exceptional strength, resists moisture, and maintains its dimensions over decades. Particleboard is compressed wood fiber and glue — it strips screws easily, swells with humidity, and degrades significantly faster in kitchens and bathrooms.
