The short version

Two ways to get your closet

Apex builds closets two ways. Configure a system from our modular frameless line — floor-standing units, corners, drawers, hanging rails, shelving and specialty accessories that combine into a walk-in or reach-in — for the fastest, most affordable route. Or go fully custom and have a closet made to order, any size, when your space or vision goes beyond the catalog. Either way you get a high-end fitted look without premium-brand pricing, designed free in 3D, and you can see the finishes in person before you commit.

Configure a system

Our modular line, priced the outlet way — the quickest path to a fitted closet.

  • Standard 15″ and 24″ depths, widths from 15–36″
  • Four coordinated finishes, soft-close accessories
  • Plan it yourself in minutes, then we confirm in 3D
  • Best value and the fastest turnaround

Go fully custom

Made to order for the odd wall, the tricky ceiling, or a specific vision.

  • Any size — built to your exact measurements
  • The same frameless construction and CARB Phase 2 boards
  • Free 3D design so you approve it before it’s made
  • Still far below premium-brand custom pricing

Finishes

Four finishes, made to coordinate

Every unit, drawer and accessory ships in the same four tones with matching 3″ toe-kicks, so a full closet reads as one designed piece. Tap a finish to preview it.

Classic White

A clean, bright white that keeps a small reach-in feeling open and lets a large walk-in read as calm and gallery-like. The safe, resale-friendly choice.

The system

What you can build

Start with a core unit, then add the pieces your wardrobe actually needs. Units come in 15″ and 24″ depths — the deeper 24″ runs open up the full accessory range.

Shelf & hanging units

Tall units configured with adjustable shelves, a single shelf plus a full-height hanging section, or a mix — the backbone of any layout.

Easy-reach corners

Corner units with an L-shaped shelf and two hanging rods turn an awkward corner into usable wardrobe space in walk-ins.

Base cabinets & islands

Lower cabinet sections that anchor a wall run or become a center island — pre-drilled to accept drawers and pull-outs.

Drawers

Soft-close drawers in multiple heights and depths, added to any base or hanging unit. Faces match your chosen finish.

Shoe & specialty storage

Angled shoe shelves, a slide-out trouser rack, a pull-out basket and a beige-lined jewelry drawer — the pieces that make it feel bespoke.

Finishing pieces

Bronze-finish hanging rails, a slide-out mirror, fillers and panels close the gaps so the run looks built-in, wall to wall.

Which one fits your space

Reach-in or walk-in?

Reach-in closet

A single wall of storage behind standard doors — bedrooms, hallways, kids’ rooms.

  • 15″-deep units keep the doorway clear
  • Shelf, hang and drawer sections on one plane
  • Biggest visual upgrade for the smallest budget
  • Often a same-week turnaround

Walk-in closet

A dedicated room you step into — primary suites and dressing rooms.

  • Straight, L-shaped or U-shaped layouts
  • 24″-deep runs, corners and a center island
  • Full accessory range: shoe, trouser, jewelry, mirror
  • Designed in 3D before a single part is ordered

Questions

Closet systems, answered

How much does a custom closet cost at Apex?

It depends on the closet: its size, whether it’s a reach-in or a full walk-in, and how many drawers, shoe shelves and accessories you add. Premium national brands commonly run from around two thousand dollars for a basic system into five figures for a large walk-in. Apex’s outlet model is built to come in below that for a comparable configuration. The fastest way to a real number is a free quote — we’ll design your space and price it before you commit.

Do you make fully custom closets, or just the modular system?

Both. Most closets are configured from our modular frameless line, which is the fastest and most affordable route. But when a space or design goes beyond the catalog — an unusual wall, a specific height, a particular layout — we build fully custom, made to order to your exact measurements, using the same frameless construction and CARB Phase 2 boards. You’ll approve it in a free 3D design first, and it still comes in below premium-brand custom pricing.

What finishes do the closets come in?

Four coordinated finishes: Classic White, Fabric Gray, Pale Pine and Satin Dusk. Units, drawers, accessories and the 3″ toe-kick all share the finish, so a full closet reads as one designed piece rather than mismatched parts.

What’s the difference between a reach-in and a walk-in system?

A reach-in is a single wall of storage behind standard closet doors — typically built with 15″-deep units. A walk-in is a room you step into, built with 24″-deep runs, corner units and often a center island, which also unlocks the full accessory range. Both are laid out in 3D before anything is ordered.

Are the closets solid wood?

They’re built from frameless engineered panels — 3″/4″ sides with a durable finished surface — the same category of material the major closet brands use. The boards are CARB Phase 2 compliant, meaning they meet California’s low-formaldehyde emission standard.

Do you install, or is it pickup only?

Closets are pickup only. The frameless system is designed to assemble and mount cleanly, so many buyers install it themselves or use their own contractor. Your finished closet is available for pickup at your Apex Home Outlet showroom — we’ll confirm the details when we quote it.

Can contractors and builders get trade pricing on closets?

Yes. The closet line is part of Apex’s contractor and builder program, with quantity pricing and lead times suited to multi-unit and repeat projects — alongside the cabinets, countertops and flooring you already source from us.

Which showrooms carry the closet systems?

Ask about closets at your nearest Apex Home Outlet showroom, or request a free quote and we’ll route you to the right California location.
